Woke up at 9:00 a.m. to an overcast sky and the roughest seas we've experienced so far. Overnight, the Century entered the North Sea again and we could definitely feel the ship's motion, up and down, back and forth. Temperature-wise, it was a little bit cooler as well. An hour or so after rolling out of bed, Lee and I were ready to face the day and made our way up to the Island's Cafe for breakfast. After our usual buffet fare we wandered around the ship for a bit before stopping in at Denise and Bruce's cabin for a short visit. From there we made our way back to our own cabin and organized the purchases we had made throughout the cruise. It was going to be a challenge to get everything packed for the flight home tomorrow but it looked doable. At two o'clock we again made our way up to the restaurant to see if we could find any of our cruise buddies. Sure enough, we ran into LeVerne and Carole and Bert and Laverne. The bunch of us had a leisurely lunch and just kind spent an hour or so chatting and watching the rain and rough seas through the restaurant windows. Lee, Carole and Laverne embarked on a mission at 4:30 and trooped off to the final Snowball Jackpot bingo. Lee missed the $1,400 full-card jackpot by one number so no help when we have to settle our ship account tomorrow. When the bingo game was done, Lee met me back in our cabin. Denise and Bruce popped by for a drink a little later, then we all headed down to the Celebrity Theatre at 7:00 for our final show of the cruise. Enjoyed a set by the cappella group On Point, were entertained by pianist extraordinaire Elliot Finkle and finished up with Nick Lewin the comedy magician. At 8:30, we joined our cruise buddies for our final dinner in the Grand Restaurant, then back down to our cabin at 10:30 to pack and put our luggage outside the door for pickup. LeVerne, Carole and Laverne dropped by with what was left in their wine stash for a farewell toast or two. After a lazy day, it was off to bed at 12:30 a.m. for our last sleep aboard the Century. |
